Showing Up (Afraid)

I’m going to be real with you: I’ve always had a hard time showing up online. I make the work, I take the photos, I even write the captions… but when it’s time to press “share,” I freeze.

When I feel into that block, I know it’s rooted in fear, specifically, a fear of being perceived. And going deeper, it’s a fear of feeling unsafe while being seen. Literally, my fingers are trembling as I write this.

Feeling okay with being seen is something I’ve been working on for over a decade. While I don’t have all the answers, I know this: Do the thing afraid.

Afraid is the antithesis of the version of me I want to be: someone who uplifts, inspires, and leads communities of creatives to become their truest and fullest selves. So today, I’m doing that for myself—and maybe, for you too—by showing up here, on screen, and saying: I’m here.

I’m setting a goal to post on this blog at least three times a month to speak honestly about the creative process, both the seen and the unseen parts, and how it continues to teach me about self-development and healing.

Hold me to it.

Much love,
Drew
